Software Engineer (Repositories/Go)

Location: United States — Remote

Base salary: $121,000–$142,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Build and improve customer-facing package registries, APIs, and artifact-serving systems.
• Develop and operate backend services in Go for Libraries and future containers, images, APKs, and other artifact types.
• Deliver scoped projects from technical design through testing, rollout, monitoring, and iteration.
• Improve scalability, reliability, observability, performance, and load testing for production systems.
• Participate in service boundary, API, data flow, and operational design decisions.
• Investigate production issues, review code, and collaborate with engineering and product partners.

Requirements

• 2+ years of software development experience, including backend or infrastructure work.
• Experience with Go, or strong programming experience in another language with the ability to learn Go quickly.
• Experience taking software from implementation through testing and release.
• Familiarity with testing, code review, debugging, version control, and customer-facing backend systems.
• Exposure to deploying or operating production services, or strong interest in developing those skills.
• Clear communication and effective collaboration in a remote environment.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of experience building and operating production backend or infrastructure systems.
• Experience owning backend or infrastructure projects from design through production operation.
• Experience with package registries, artifact repositories, APIs, developer platforms, or high-scale serving systems.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
• Strong judgment around reliability, observability, performance, security, and operational tradeoffs.
