Go Applications Engineer

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $130,000–$145,000 annually

What you will do

• Design and build high-performance backend services, infrastructure tooling, and cloud-native applications in Go.
• Develop production gRPC and REST APIs and contribute to a codebase shared across multiple engineering teams.
• Build and maintain Kubernetes-native components, including controllers and related tooling.
• Work with product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to turn ambiguous requirements into reliable solutions.
• Improve production quality through code reviews, design reviews, debugging, performance engineering, and mentorship.

Requirements

• At least five years of professional software engineering experience, including significant experience with Go.
• Strong knowledge of Go concurrency patterns, including goroutines, channels, and contexts.
• Hands-on experience with production gRPC or REST APIs, Kubernetes-native development, relational databases, and key-value data stores.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, container-based deployment, debugging, and performance engineering.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Nice to have

• Open-source contributions to Go-based projects.
• Experience writing Kubernetes operators or controllers.
• Familiarity with eBPF, service mesh, low-level systems programming, WASM, TinyGo, or embedded systems.
• Exposure to security-sensitive Go projects involving cryptography or authentication.
