Principal Engineer (AI, Office of the CEO)

What you will do

• Architect and build internal AI systems end to end, from initial design through production, as the founding technical engineer.
• Own trustworthy AI foundations at company scale, including retrieval quality, permissions, security, and reliability.
• Work hands-on with LLMs, retrieval, agents, and integrations while making pragmatic technology choices.
• Embed with teams across hirify.global to ship AI into real workflows and establish systems and ownership that last.
• Lead build-versus-buy evaluations and rapid proofs of concept, committing decisively or stopping experiments quickly.
• Work with executive leadership on systems that influence daily company decision-making.

Requirements

• Track record of building production systems at Staff+ scope, including data infrastructure, retrieval, or applied AI used daily by hundreds or thousands of people.
• Hands-on depth with the modern AI stack and experience learning from failures in production AI systems.
• Pragmatic technology judgment with the ability to defend technology choices.
• Founding-engineer, consulting, or forward-deployed experience with ownership of outcomes inside another team’s domain.
• Daily experience using AI tools and agents as systems to build with and for.
• Ability to ship quickly while maintaining trustworthy engineering standards and explaining technical decisions to executive leadership.
