Product Engineer, Computer Use (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA; New York City, NY; or Seattle, WA. Hybrid policy requires staff to work from an Anthropic office at least 25% of the time, with some roles requiring more office attendance.

Annual salary: $300,000–$320,000 USD

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end delivery of computer-use and browser-control product surfaces, from scoping and development through launch, measurement, and iteration.
• Build across the full stack, including user interfaces, agent runtimes, and backend services.
• Diagnose and resolve reliability and robustness issues in the computer-use agent harness.
• Partner with computer-use researchers and the Claude Cowork team on integrations and knowledge-worker workflows.
• Instrument products, analyze usage data, and use insights to prioritize work and measure progress.
• Translate user pain points into concrete, shippable features for knowledge workers.

Requirements

• Experience taking a product from zero to one with end-to-end ownership as a founding or early startup engineer, or equivalent ownership in a larger company.
• Strong full-stack engineering skills, including production web frontend and backend development.
• Hands-on experience building with LLM APIs, prompting, or agent frameworks.
• Experience shipping products to external users and iterating based on feedback.
• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a relevant field.
• Ability to work from one of the listed US offices under the hybrid policy.

Nice to have

• Strong product design instincts and the ability to create a clean, usable interface without a dedicated designer.
• Experience with browser automation, desktop automation, or robotic process automation.
• Experience building evaluations or quality harnesses for machine learning systems.
• Experience with SQL, notebooks, product metrics, agent loops, tool integrations, or LLM guardrails.
