Applied AI Engineer (Enterprise Tech)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, CA; New York City, NY; or Seattle, WA, with 3 days in the office per week

Annual salary: $200,000–$320,000 USD

What you will do

• Advise enterprise customers as they deploy Claude-powered products and workflows from technical discovery through production deployment.
• Translate customer business requirements into technical solutions in partnership with account executives and Applied AI Architects.
• Develop customized pilots, prototypes, evaluation suites, and architecture recommendations.
• Lead hands-on technical workshops and code reviews with customer engineering teams, including occasional travel to customer sites.
• Identify reusable design patterns and share insights with Product and Engineering teams.
• Create documentation, technical content, conference talks, blog posts, and white papers covering LLM implementation techniques.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in a technical role such as Forward Deployed Engineer, Product Engineer, Software Engineer, or Technical Product Manager; technical founder experience is also relevant.
• Production experience with LLMs, advanced prompt engineering, agent development and frameworks, evaluation frameworks, transcript analysis, MCP, and deployment at scale.
• Strong programming skills in Python or TypeScript and experience building production applications.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, solve complex problems, and collaborate across organizational boundaries.
• Exceptional communication skills for explaining technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or professional experience in a relevant field.
