Data Security Engineer (Information Security)

Location: Worldwide; remote work. Flexible work from an office or remotely. Relocation support is available to hubs in Cyprus, Serbia, Georgia, or Kazakhstan.

What you will do

• Implement, configure, operate, and improve DLP controls across endpoints, email, cloud services, collaboration platforms, and data repositories.
• Create and maintain policies for personal, financial, payment, confidential, and other sensitive data.
• Implement data discovery, classification, labelling, encryption, masking, tokenisation, access controls, and activity monitoring.
• Investigate DLP alerts and potential data leakage cases with SOC, Legal, Privacy, HR, and business teams.
• Integrate data protection tools with Elastic Stack, Jira, identity platforms, cloud services, and automation workflows.
• Automate operational tasks, validate controls before production rollout, maintain documentation, and support audits.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in information security, security engineering, data security, DLP, or a related technical role.
• Practical experience with DLP, data classification, data discovery, or cloud security controls.
• Understanding of sensitive data types, data flows, leakage risks, encryption, masking, tokenisation, access control, and secrets protection.
• Experience creating, testing, and tuning security policies and detection rules, analysing security events, and investigating alerts.
• Basic scripting or automation skills with Python, Bash, APIs, or workflow automation tools.
• English B1+ required for documentation, tools, and international collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Workspace DLP, endpoint DLP, CASB, data discovery, or classification technologies.
• Familiarity with Elastic Stack, SIEM platforms, AWS, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, or security-product APIs.
• Understanding of PCI DSS, privacy regulations, and financial data protection requirements.
• Relevant security, cloud, or data protection certifications.
