Security Infrastructure Engineer Intern (Cloud Security)

Location: Remote from Peru

Salary: $800 USD monthly gross

What you will do

• Review vulnerability scan results, validate findings, and triage security issues from internal and external sources.
• Analyze SIEM logs and alerts to identify potential security problems.
• Participate in basic security incident investigations and documentation.
• Help implement and improve security controls across AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure.
• Improve detection capabilities, monitoring coverage, and security visibility.
• Contribute to securing CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure workflows in collaboration with engineering teams.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Cybersecurity or a related field.
• Basic understanding of computer systems, networking, security fundamentals, vulnerabilities, authentication, and OWASP Top 10.
• Familiarity with Linux and command-line tools.
• Interest in cloud platforms, with AWS preferred, and infrastructure systems.
• Exposure to programming or scripting with Python, Go, or Bash.
• Demonstrated experience working with Claude or equivalent large language model tools is required.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker and basic Kubernetes concepts.
• Exposure to logging, monitoring, or SIEM tools.
• Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
• Interest in cloud security, infrastructure security, or detection engineering.
