Security Infrastructure Engineer Intern

Location: Remote in Peru

Salary: $800 USD gross per month

What you will do

• Review vulnerability scan results and help validate security findings.
• Triage findings from internal tools and external sources.
• Analyze SIEM logs and alerts to identify potential security issues.
• Participate in basic security incident investigations and documentation.
• Improve security controls, detection capabilities, and monitoring coverage across AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure.
• Help secure CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure workflows in collaboration with engineering teams.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Cybersecurity or a related field.
• Basic understanding of computer systems, networking, security fundamentals, vulnerabilities, authentication, and OWASP Top 10.
• Familiarity with Linux and command-line tools.
• Interest in AWS, cloud platforms, and infrastructure systems.
• Exposure to Python, Go, or Bash scripting.
• Demonstrated experience with Claude or equivalent large language model tools is required.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker and basic Kubernetes concepts.
• Exposure to logging, monitoring, or SIEM tools.
• Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
• Interest in cloud security, infrastructure security, or detection engineering.
