Mechanical Engineer (Packaging Machinery)

Location: Corona, California, USA; onsite role with approximately 10% travel to customer sites

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop mechanical designs for filling and capping machinery based on customer specifications.
• Perform engineering calculations involving machine design, power transmission, fluid dynamics, and basic controls theory.
• Design machined and fabricated components, including shafts, bearings, valves, drive components, sheet metal parts, and structural weldments.
• Create 3D models and drawings in SolidWorks and prepare Bills of Materials in the Syteline ERP system.
• Coordinate with sales, manufacturing, assembly, purchasing, service, and other departments to deliver safe, functional, and manufacturable equipment.
• Support machine installation, start-up, testing, and customer or service-technician technical inquiries.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in design and/or application engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably mechanical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of machine design and fluid dynamics, with a basic understanding of electrical systems and programming.
• Experience designing machined and fabricated parts and working in a made-to-order or semi-custom machinery environment.
• Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and ERP systems.
• Strong verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal, and multitasking skills.

Nice to have

• Packaging or food processing industry experience.
• Experience with bottle filling or capping equipment.
