Manager, Billing (AI and Automation)

Location: Charlotte, NC, USA; on-site in a US-based, onshore operation

What you will do

• Lead daily billing operations, including invoice generation, customer portal invoicing, invoice delivery, customer support, and stakeholder collaboration.
• Own billing metrics such as invoice accuracy, billing cycle time, electronic invoicing adoption, productivity, and customer experience.
• Resolve complex billing issues, disputes, and customer escalations while partnering with Collections, Cash Application, Customer Service, and divisional finance teams.
• Lead the billing digital transformation roadmap, including AI, automation, workflow optimization, analytics, electronic invoicing, and customer self-service.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities while maintaining financial controls and compliance.
• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing billing team and guide adoption of new processes and technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in Billing, Accounts Receivable, Shared Services, or Order-to-Cash operations, including leadership responsibilities.
• Experience leading operations teams and delivering operational improvements in a service-oriented environment.
• Experience with workflow technologies, reporting tools, automation initiatives, and sustainable process improvements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, relationship management, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Charlotte, North Carolina, as part of a US-based, onshore operation.

Nice to have

• Experience with customer invoicing portals such as Coupa, Ariba, Tungsten, Taulia, or similar platforms.
