Finance Manager (AI)

Location: In-person at the London office with some work-from-home arrangements; applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

Salary: £120,000–£160,000 per year

hirify.global is an AI safety organization focused on detecting scheming, researching its causes, and developing mitigations in collaboration with frontier AI companies.

What you will do

• Run daily Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay operations, including invoices, expenses, payments, customer onboarding, collections, and bookkeeping.
• Own Record-to-Report activities, including monthly close, journals, accounting judgments, balance sheet reconciliations, and management reporting.
• Prepare and improve a weekly 13-week direct cash forecast, run scenarios, reconcile forecasts to actuals, and explain variances.
• Build scalable finance systems, processes, controls, documentation, and technology integrations from first principles.
• Use AI agents and automation to simplify and eliminate manual finance work.
• Support statutory accounts, tax, transfer pricing, R&D tax credits, audits, grant expenditure responsibility, and other compliance requirements across operating jurisdictions.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA certification and at least two years of post-qualification experience at a small UK company.
• Personal experience running end-to-end monthly closes by working day five, with supported reconciliations for every balance sheet account.
• Experience producing multidimensional management accounts with budget variances and practical operational insights.
• Hands-on experience with intercompany accounting, consolidation, an overseas entity, and UK statutory reporting.
• Fluency in a cloud ledger such as Xero, QuickBooks Online, Campfire, Light, Rillet, or DualEntry, together with strong spreadsheet and data skills.
• Right to work in the UK required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience at a VC-backed or founder-led scale-up, preferably through a first audit.
• Background in deep-tech, R&D-heavy, software, project, or professional services accounting.
• Experience with AI-native ERPs, AI agents, automation, n8n, Zapier, MCP, or coding agents.
• Experience coordinating UK and US accounting and tax providers.
• Interest in AI safety and Apollo’s mission.
