Environmental Health & Safety Consultant (EHS)

Location: Hybrid home-office position based in the Richmond, Oakland, Hayward, or Fremont area, serving clients across the Bay Area. Frequent client-site visits are required, including approximately 2–3 weeks of overnight travel per quarter and driving between client visits, typically 4 days per week. Employment requires authorization to work in the United States.

Annual base salary: $70,000–$90,000, with average yearly bonus potential of approximately $4,000 and travel allowances.

What you will do

• Conduct onsite field audits to identify unsafe and non-compliant conditions related to OSHA, DOT, Fire Code, and EPA regulations.
• Recommend corrective actions and help implement accident prevention programs, policies, procedures, and environmental management systems.
• Train client employees and management teams and moderate safety committee meetings.
• Prepare and maintain compliance documentation, including Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Tier II, OSHA 300, EPA identification, tank permitting, and SPCC records.
• Build relationships with clients, dealer groups, state dealer associations, and internal hirify.global stakeholders.
• Organize client visits, support regulatory interactions, and identify sales opportunities with the Account Executive.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Safety Studies, or a related discipline preferred.
• At least three years of Environmental Health & Safety experience preferred.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, report-writing, organizational, multitasking, and deadline-management skills.
• Computer proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, Microsoft Outlook, CRM systems, and phone or tablet applications.
• Active driver’s license and legally required insurance, with the ability to drive between client sites and travel overnight.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds, stand for at least six hours per day, and safely work around vehicles, heavy machinery, and other hazards.
