Field Robotics Team Lead (AI)

Location: Based in the UK with a hybrid workplace; frequent travel to deployment sites, especially along the London–Manchester corridor, and several weeks at the headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland at the start of the role.

What you will do

• Hire, onboard, mentor, and develop a high-performing UK field robotics engineering team.
• Lead end-to-end customer deployments from site assessment, scoping, and planning through live autonomous operations and support.
• Define and improve deployment processes, tooling, checklists, documentation, and operational playbooks.
• Identify and resolve technical and operational risks before they affect customers.
• Serve as the primary technical interface for UK customers and translate field feedback into product improvements.
• Coordinate with leadership and engineering teams in Switzerland to align UK operations with global product and deployment priorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in robotics, mechatronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• At least 5 years of experience leading technical engineering teams, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
• Experience delivering complex technical projects on time across multiple parallel workstreams.
• Excellent communication skills for working with engineers, customers, executives, and other non-technical stakeholders.
• English proficiency is required.
• Availability to work in the UK and travel frequently to deployment sites is required.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with mobile robots, autonomous systems, sensor integration, or field deployment of hardware and software stacks.
• Experience in construction, agriculture, mining, automotive, or heavy civil construction.
• Background in customer-facing technical project or program management.
• Experience working across distributed international teams.
