Senior Manager, Whole Vehicle Science Attributes (Automotive)

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, or Novi, Michigan, United States. The role requires 4–5 days per week in the office, regular in-person meetings and occasional travel to company events.

Base salary: $180,000–$220,000 annually, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the whole-vehicle attributes and sciences organization and define the integration strategy across vehicle components, subsystems, and functions.
• Develop validation and verification plans for hardware, software, and whole-vehicle performance in line with regulatory and industry requirements.
• Analyze physics-based simulation data, interpret results, and recommend changes to meet performance and safety targets.
• Direct prototype on-road and track testing to validate simulations and assess real-world vehicle performance.
• Lead development of high-fidelity vehicle physics models and use them to optimize driving behavior, energy consumption, and aerodynamics.
• Collaborate with vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics, powertrain, body, and interior R&D teams and provide technical guidance during design reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of automotive experience in vehicle characteristics development, simulation, sciences, data analysis, and interpretation.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, electrification, chassis, drivetrain integration, electrical and electronic systems, and operational modes.
• Experience building and leading high-performing technical teams.
• Knowledge of regulatory, homologation, and regional requirements, plus proficiency in simulation-result interpretation and data analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, prioritization, and stakeholder-collaboration skills.
