Senior Manager, Quality Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Coppell, Texas, or Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; hybrid work with at least 3 days per week in the office

Salary: $178,000–$285,000 per year, plus annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.

What you will do

• Establish and lead the Field Quality function for fleet-level issue evaluation, prioritization, and RCCA lifecycle management.
• Build and manage a team of Field Quality Engineers and Technicians, including hiring, mentoring, and technical development.
• Define field-quality processes, RASIC responsibilities, governing playbooks, workflows, training, and documentation.
• Own field-quality dashboards, telemetry and field-data tooling, KPIs, and reporting for fleet health and quality performance.
• Triage fleet issues and coordinate investigations, corrective actions, safety escalations, rollout strategies, repairs, and stakeholder sign-offs across Hardware, Software, Operations, and Service.
• Represent Field Quality in reviews, audits, regulatory assessments, launch-readiness decisions, and ISO 9001 compliance activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Systems Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
• At least 10 years of experience in quality, field reliability, or related roles, with increasing leadership responsibility and cross-functional team management.
• Experience with RCCA methodologies and corrective-action systems, including 8D, 5-Why, and FMEA.
• Strong data-analysis skills and practical experience with dashboards, telemetry, field-data systems, Hardware and Software investigations, and deployed products.
• Experience developing processes, RASIC definitions, governing playbooks, audit preparation, and quality or compliance programs.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with familiarity with Jira, dashboard platforms, statistical software, and data analysis; Python scripting is desirable.

Nice to have

• Experience with automotive or safety-critical standards such as ISO 26262, ASPICE, or IATF 16949.
• Experience leading fleet field-quality programs, coordinating OTA rollouts, or supporting service operations.
• Familiarity with PLM, ERP, and incident-management tools.
