Business Analyst (Federal Grants & eRA Systems)

Location: US-Remote

Salary: $130,000–$150,000 annually

What you will do

• Analyze and document current-state and future-state business processes across the federal grant lifecycle, including pre-award, award, post-award, closeout, and audit.
• Support implementations, migrations, deployments, and enhancements of eRA Commons modules, GrantSolutions, and related enterprise systems.
• Define user roles, use cases, technical requirements, process maps, training documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge-base content.
• Identify operational bottlenecks, compliance gaps, workflow automation opportunities, and improvements to the future-state eRA platform.
• Perform gap analysis, trade-off analysis, and recommendations for migration from customized processes to standardized solutions.
• Coordinate with implementation teams and client stakeholders on clarification, UAT, disaster-recovery exercises, and other testing activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of business analysis experience, or equivalent experience.
• Direct experience supporting eRA or GrantSolutions implementations, migrations, or modernizations in a federal agency environment.
• Thorough knowledge of federal grant policies, funding opportunity announcements, peer review and application intake, award obligation, financial drawdown, and post-award monitoring.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
• Ability to decompose complex federal processes into structured technical requirements and process maps while working independently and collaboratively in a hybrid-remote environment.
• Ability to maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
• Pattern recognition for incident and problem management and a growth-oriented approach to identifying end-user solutions.
