TL;DR
Production/Broadcast Engineer (Broadcast) (NBC Sports): Providing front-line engineering and technical support for live television studios, control rooms, and broadcast systems with an accent on system troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and technical integration. Focus on designing and commissioning broadcast systems, supporting 24x7 sports production, and solving complex equipment and software issues under live-air pressure.

Location: Stamford, Connecticut, United States. Required onsite full-time at an hirify.global-designated worksite. The role supports a seven-day-a-week operation and may require nights, weekends, overtime, and availability within a 24x7 production schedule.

Salary: USD 45–63 per hour

What you will do

  • Provide front-line broadcast engineering and technical support across multiple studios and control rooms.
  • Troubleshoot control room, studio, audio, video, computer, and related broadcast systems at the system and module levels.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, software updates, and technical setups for live programs.
  • Collaborate with production and operations teams to implement technical solutions for sports programming.
  • Design systems, manage engineering projects, and support integration and commissioning.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in a television broadcast environment or equivalent education and experience.
  • BS degree in Engineering, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience with broadcast production systems, audio consoles, intercoms, video switchers, wireless audio, server-based playout, and test equipment.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networks, digital television and HDSDI, software-driven broadcast equipment, and system signal-flow diagrams.
  • Ability to work under live television pressure, support a 24x7 production environment, and troubleshoot broadcast equipment hands-on.
  • Must be willing to work in Stamford, Connecticut and have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Sony cameras and switchers, EVS servers, Evertz, Grass Valley, RTS, Calrec, Tektronix, Leader, Avid, Chyron, AutoCAD, and SMPTE 2110.
  • Experience with system design, project management, server installation and maintenance, 1080P and 4K HDR production, and live production environments.
  • Knowledge of wireless communication systems and RTS ADAM/Omneo comms systems.
