Mobile Unit Engineer (Broadcast Engineering)

Location: Remote (US); travel is required throughout the year, including on-site support at events

What you will do

• Manage and monitor mobile unit broadcast engineering operations at remote events.
• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, engineering updates, cleaning, and inventory checks.
• Track and report equipment repairs, maintenance status, inventory needs, and technical updates.
• Direct crew activities related to mobile unit operations.
• Provide on-site client service and technical support.
• Complete expense and technical reports for each show or designated assignment.

Requirements

• Associate or technical degree in electronics or engineering is preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in broadcast engineering or a related position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of broadcast technology, equipment, facilities, and production for major commercial and cable television networks.
• Programming knowledge of Lawo Arista IP router, Evertz EQX, Utah Scientific, or Pesa HD baseband routers.
• Ability to provide client-facing technical service and support, lift, push, or pull up to 50 lb, and seek assistance for heavier loads.
• Must be willing and able to travel throughout the year and provide on-site event support.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of Grass Valley Kayenne switchers, Sony HDC-2500-or-better camera systems, and Calrec Apollo or Artemis audio consoles.
• Familiarity with audio, video, graphics, and other systems used in mobile television facilities.
