Broadcast Engineer

Location: Remote (US); the role description also states that the position is based in central London and may involve travel to operational and event sites.

NEP Bow Tie provides managed media, broadcast, audio-visual, and systems installation services for UK parliaments, government authorities, and live events.

What you will do

• Perform first-line fault finding, repair, and maintenance of broadcast and AV equipment.
• Operate vision control systems, broadcast cameras, CTA systems, matrices, switchers, mixers, routers, and keyers.
• Set up and operate streaming, encoding, transcoding, CDN, and web-based video systems.
• Rig and de-rig broadcast and AV equipment, including equipment requiring manual handling.
• Support Media Asset Management systems, Broadcast IT systems, and MS Office hardware and software issues.
• Work with clients, producers, directors, project managers, and engineers on technical support and small-scale projects.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in a broadcast environment is preferred.
• Experience rigging, operating, and maintaining cameras, audio, and signal distribution equipment for live outside sports.
• Ability to work under pressure in high-profile live environments and respond to technical problems.
• Strong spoken and written communication skills, initiative, teamwork, and a diplomatic approach to clients.
• Willingness to work unpredictable shifts, including weekends, and travel to operational locations.
• Ability to handle broadcast and AV equipment, including manual handling of heavy items.

Nice to have

• RCP/OCP operation experience with HD and 4K cameras.
• Basic editing experience with Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere.
