Senior BGA & Board Repair Technician

hirify.global is recruiting for a technical electronics repair position supporting legacy engineering and embedded-computer products.

What you will do

• Perform component removal, replacement, and board-level repairs involving through-hole, surface-mount, jumpers, and sockets.
• Execute BGA removal, site preparation, reballing, replacement, and thermal-profile procedures.
• Maintain the readiness of BGA rework equipment, tooling, thermal profiles, and software configurations.
• Maintain traceability for boards, components, and rework cycles while following ESD, safety, and quality standards.
• Support mechanical assembly, ruggedization, cable and harness fabrication, and development of standard work instructions.
• Inspect repaired assemblies and prepare them for retest, escalating damage or out-of-scope conditions.

Requirements

• Technical certification, an associate degree, formal military electronics training, or equivalent hands-on electronics repair experience.
• At least 3 years of experience with electronic assembly, advanced soldering and desoldering, and printed-circuit-board repair.
• Demonstrated experience with BGA removal, replacement, reballing, and thermal-profile execution.
• Proficiency with microscopes, hot-air systems, preheaters, and specialized laboratory repair tooling.
• Ability to interpret schematics, assembly drawings, bills of materials, and engineering dispositions.
• IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, or IPC-7711/7721 certification is strongly preferred.
