Safety Technician (Industrial Construction)

What you will do

• Conduct safety orientations, employee training, and HSE education.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections of work areas.
• Implement behavior-based safety, auditing, safety management, process safety, risk management, and compliance programs.
• Coach and support construction field operations while supervising safety activities.
• Participate in incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Review construction work plans and provide input to project managers.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of safety experience in an industrial construction environment or equivalent education.
• Experience with excavation, lifting and rigging, crane operations, demolition, lead and asbestos abatement, confined spaces, work at height, steel erection, and scaffolding.
• Experience with work permits for crane lifts, confined spaces, excavation, work at height, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication, time management, organizational skills, and confidence speaking to large groups.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety and health training required. Must be able to walk extensively and climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolds in varied work environments.
