Pharmacy Technician Part Time Days

Location: Palos Heights, Illinois, United States; onsite day shift from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with every third weekend and two holidays per year.

Salary: $22.58–$31.61 per hour

What you will do

• Identify and fill medications, surgical kits, medication carts, emergency crash carts, requisitions, and specialty items.
• Prepare sterile compounds and IV admixtures for injections and infusions, including hazardous medications, chemotherapy, and biologics.
• Fill, label, package, and document individual patient medications and unit-of-use supplies.
• Deliver medications to nursing units and automated dispensing cabinets, retrieve discontinued medications, and maintain cabinet inventory.
• Order, receive, store, rotate, and inspect pharmaceuticals and supplies, including expired and returned medications.
• Handle controlled substances, enter patient charges and credits, and maintain required logs and records.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pharmacy Technician License through IDFPR required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician certification through PTCB or NHA required for technicians licensed after 2008, within six months of hire or sooner when required by the Illinois pharmacy practice act.
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
• Experience of one year or less in related work is preferred, demonstrating familiarity with customary pharmacy routines and procedures.
