Senior Software Engineer (Fullstack Web)

hirify.global, part of Sony Interactive Entertainment, develops hardware, network services and entertainment experiences for the hirify.global platform.

What you will do

• Develop and support a large-scale web portal used by developers to submit games, movies, music and other content to the hirify.global platform.
• Modernise the mature application and build new cloud-based services using Go, TypeScript and AWS.
• Create frontend experiences in collaboration with Product and UX.
• Break down features, plan iterations and contribute to architecture and technical design discussions.
• Investigate technical issues, participate in code reviews, pair programming and knowledge sharing.
• Provide technical direction, support engineering decisions and mentor team members.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience in full-stack web development and large, mature web applications.
• Proficiency in at least one backend programming language and experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with PHP and willingness to work with and modernise an established PHP platform.
• Understanding of web application architecture, APIs and web services, with strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Git or another version-control system and collaborative agile engineering practices.
• Senior-level experience leading technical discussions, mentoring engineers and contributing to technical direction.

Nice to have

• Experience developing or operating services on AWS.
• Experience with Go, TypeScript or Python.
• Proficiency in Unix or Linux-based environments.
• Experience with Scrum, Kanban or SAFe.
• Previous technical leadership or mentoring experience.
