Principal Engineer (AI)

Location: Dublin, Ireland. Hybrid work with a requirement to be in the office at least three days per week.

What you will do

• Lead the definition and execution of strategic engineering initiatives across the R&D organization.
• Build and evolve scalable back-end and front-end systems for customer support products.
• Contribute to software architecture and all development phases, from ideation and prototyping through design and implementation.
• Assess project progress, risks, and technical challenges to support engineering prioritization and resource allocation.
• Raise standards for technical performance, reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.
• Hire, mentor, and support the career development of engineers while partnering with engineering managers and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Significant demonstrated impact on products or engineering teams.
• Deep knowledge of a high-level programming language such as Ruby, Python, or Perl.
• Professional experience with distributed systems.
• At least 2 years of experience as the primary technical leader for a team.
• Experience collaborating with technical leaders, product teams, designers, researchers, and data analysts.
• Experience delivering customer or user value and applying strong product judgment.
