Senior Software Engineer (NodeJS, React, SaaS)

Location: Budapest, Hungary; hybrid work with onsite attendance at least 50% of the time for employees within commuting distance of a hirify.global office.

What you will do

• Design, develop, review, and test new features for a flagship SaaS product.
• Refactor and modernize legacy software components.
• Contribute to large-scale product architecture and validate designs through experiments and proof-of-concepts.
• Collaborate with product managers and other teams to define technical requirements, deliverables, and optimized solutions.
• Take ownership of delivery, mentor team members, and share technical knowledge.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on development experience in a commercial software company.
• Strong experience with SQL and relational database management systems.
• Experience with microservices and REST APIs.
• Experience with cloud tools and cloud-native development; AWS experience is preferred.
• Problem-solving mindset, technology-agnostic approach, ownership, and proactive workload management.

Nice to have

• Experience with SQL stored procedures.
• Fullstack experience with NodeJS and frontend development.
• CI/CD, containers, cloud deployments, and GitHub Actions experience.
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture.
• Experience with data visualization or reporting tools such as Looker or QuickSight.
