TL;DR
Software & Data Systems Engineer – Predictive Maintenance (Aerospace): Designing and developing ground software tools and Health and Usage Management Systems for aerospace platforms with an accent on scalable backend architecture, telemetry processing, and predictive analytics. Focus on defining system interfaces, building REST and gRPC APIs, and transforming complex flight data into operational insights for safety and fleet efficiency.
Location: Getafe Area, Spain. Hybrid working model with 40% remote work.

What you will do
- Design scalable backend architectures, REST and gRPC APIs, and ground software tools for large engineering datasets.
- Develop end-to-end applications for telemetry acquisition, processing, analysis, and visualization.
- Define interfaces, system boundaries, and requirements with avionics, hardware, and maintenance teams.
- Apply data analytics, machine learning, and predictive methods to flight and operational data.
- Drive technical decisions, system trade-offs, CI/CD practices, containerization, and long-term platform roadmaps.
Requirements
- Degree in aerospace, systems, software, telecommunications, industrial engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of combined experience in software development, systems engineering, or complex system design.
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend language: Python, C++, Java, or Go.
- Experience with scalable, modular, or distributed systems, API design, and large-scale data processing.
- Familiarity with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker.
- Ability to work in the Getafe Area under the stated hybrid arrangement.
Nice to have
- Experience in aerospace, avionics, safety-critical systems, or DO-178C.
- Knowledge of aircraft communication protocols such as ARINC and AFDX.
- Experience with React, TypeScript, and dashboards for technical metrics, time-series data, and operational telemetry.
- Background in predictive modeling, machine learning, or engineering data visualization.
