FPGA Engineer (AI/Defense)

hirify.global is an air-defense company developing AI-guided interceptors for drones and cruise missiles, together with the software platform that powers them.

What you will do

• Own FPGA-function development for electronic warfare and signals-intelligence capabilities from architecture through operational-hardware validation.
• Build VHDL and SystemVerilog RTL modules for digitized RF-signal processing, information extraction, and waveform generation.
• Implement DSP chains including digital down-conversion, filtering, channelization, FFT, detection, direction-finding, and classification.
• Integrate programmable logic with RF converters and embedded processors, including data transfers, control interfaces, clocking, and synchronization.
• Establish verification methods and testbenches, resolve timing and resource constraints, and optimize power consumption.
• Bring up designs on target boards and support laboratory and field testing with RF, software, and systems engineers.

Requirements

• MSc in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Signal Processing, or a related field.
• Strong experience developing and verifying RTL in VHDL or SystemVerilog, particularly for digital signal processing.
• Practical experience implementing designs on SoC FPGAs, including synthesis, implementation, timing analysis, and hardware debugging.
• Strong understanding of sampled signals, frequency conversion, digital filtering, spectral analysis, and fixed-point numerical behavior.
• Ability to reason across FPGA, processor, and RF hardware boundaries and to compare reference models with hardware results.
• Hands-on, methodical approach to debugging, verification, documentation, and independent technical ownership.

Nice to have

• Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, Python, or HLS.
• Familiarity with RF laboratory equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
• Prior experience in electronic warfare.
