6-Month Intern Lab Technician (AI Hardware)

Location: Florence, Italy; on-site lab presence required

What you will do

• Perform voltage, current, power, signal integrity, and timing measurements on AIPU boards using oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and DAQ systems.
• Support the design, assembly, and configuration of test benches for board bring-up and validation.
• Collect, organize, and analyze performance data to validate board behavior against specifications.
• Contribute to schematic capture and PCB layout for ancillary support boards using Altium Designer or KiCad.
• Maintain lab equipment, calibration schedules, workspace safety, and inventory records.

Requirements

• Technical diploma in electronics or electrical engineering, such as ITS or Perito Elettronico/Elettrotecnico, or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and electronic measurement principles, digital and analog electronics, and laboratory instrumentation.
• Exposure to schematic capture and PCB layout tools, ideally Altium Designer or KiCad.
• Familiarity with Linux and scripting languages.
• Strong analytical skills, precision, attention to detail, self-organization, and ability to collaborate with engineers across disciplines.
• English speaking and writing skills are required; Italian is optional.
