Senior RF Engineer – Quantum Hardware (Quantum Computing)

Location: Aubervilliers, France; hybrid workplace with remote work possible depending on specific ongoing tasks

Alice & Bob is an early-stage quantum computing startup developing a universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer based on superconducting Schrödinger cat qubits.

What you will do

• Design custom RF hardware, including power amplifiers, LNAs, filters, bias tees, and PCB front-ends.
• Use 3D electromagnetic simulation to validate RF designs before prototyping.
• Define measurement plans and build test setups and characterization benches for quantum processor control electronics.
• Run verification and validation using Python, VNAs, oscilloscopes, SMUs, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
• Design and upgrade RF/DC systems to meet requirements for spectral purity, pulse shape, and power stability.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation, control electronics, and PCB hardware while collaborating with physicists and software engineers.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, RF/Microwave Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in RF design, characterization, control electronics, and PCB design.
• Strong knowledge of RF design, signal processing, signal integrity, modulation and demodulation, filtering, noise, and distortion analysis.
• Hands-on experience with 3D EM simulation tools, FPGA integration, and RF/electrical test equipment.
• Python skills for test automation and remote instrument control, including SCPI.
• Proficient English is required; French is a plus.

Nice to have

• Experience with cryogenic or quantum environments.
• Knowledge of KiCad, Altium, HFSS, or scientific writing.
