Network Engineer III (SATCOM)

Location: Bluemont, Virginia, United States — onsite. Weekend and evening work may be required.

Salary: $80 per hour; annual salary around $150,000, plus benefits.

What you will do

• Design, install, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot WAN, LAN, campus, and multi-domain network environments.
• Support enterprise network solutions, traffic analysis, bandwidth optimization, and network performance monitoring.
• Develop network architecture diagrams, roadmaps, system specifications, test plans, and configuration documentation.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot satellite communications equipment, including VSAT and fixed ground station systems.
• Evaluate network and communications technologies, recommend upgrades, and support capability enhancements.
• Apply customer security procedures and government policies while coordinating technical requirements with government agencies.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly is required.
• 8+ years of experience with network and transport technologies and large-scale enterprise or global networks.
• Experience with Juniper switches and routers, cryptographic devices, VPN, Starshield, and network analysis tools.
• Experience supporting NIPRNET, SIPRNET, and JWICS services, including IPv4, multicast, QoS, SDN, SNMP, VoIP, and VTC.
• Experience with OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VSAT, SCPC, TDMA, satellite modems, and RF transmit and receive chains.
• Must be able to work onsite in Bluemont, Virginia, and work weekends or evenings as needed.

Nice to have

• CompTIA Security+, CISSP, JNCIA, CCNA, CCNP, CCVP, or CCDP certification.
• ITIL v3 Foundations certification.
