Sr. Network Engineer (Juniper Operating Systems)

Location: Hybrid role based in Sunnyvale, CA; Westford, MA; Houston, TX; or Herndon, VA, with at least 3 days per week in the office.

Salary: USD 105,500–243,000 annual base salary, depending on location, experience, education, and skills. Ranges include USD 120,000–228,000 in Massachusetts, USD 120,000–243,000 in California, and USD 105,500–243,000 in Texas and Virginia.

What you will do

• Handle high-priority issues for major customers using Juniper MX, PTX, and ACX products.
• Own sensitive customer escalations and restore network services through systematic troubleshooting.
• Build trusted relationships with customer accounts and participate in technical calls and meetings.
• Collaborate with Juniper and internal technical teams on knowledge transfer, escalations, and product improvements.
• Document technical issues and solutions in knowledge bases, white papers, and troubleshooting guides.
• Maintain product expertise and recommend training and team-performance improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or an equivalent field.
• 6+ years of experience in network support, including 3 years supporting large IP networks.
• 4+ years supporting customers onsite and by phone, including complex and high-profile customer environments.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, IP packet flow, OSI layers, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, RSVP-TE, L3VPN, and L2VPN.
• Strong communication, presentation, problem-solving, customer management, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work from one of the listed US office locations on a hybrid schedule.

Nice to have

• Experience with EVPN, SR-MPLS, and SRv6.
• Experience with Ixia or Spirent traffic generators, TCP replay tools, and network protocol analysis tools.
• Experience with Linux, FreeBSD, Shell, Python, Slax, or Perl.
