Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (AWS)

Location: Hybrid — onsite and remote; required in Lafayette, Louisiana, Knoxville, Tennessee, or Birmingham, Alabama

Salary: $89,600–$139,000 annually

What you will do

• Build automation that improves reliability and security across AWS environments.
• Modernize enterprise Analytics, Data Science, and Machine Learning platforms.
• Support AWS SageMaker and related Data Science tooling.
• Implement IAM, access controls, vulnerability remediation, and other cloud security measures.
• Resolve complex cloud infrastructure and data science tooling issues while supporting migrations and legacy system closeout.
• Collaborate with security, DevOps, application teams, platform engineers, vendors, and other cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering.
• Extensive hands-on AWS experience in cloud-native environments, including AWS SageMaker or similar enterprise ML/Data Science platforms.
• Proficiency in Python, Shell, or similar scripting languages.
• Practical knowledge of Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with cloud security, IAM, access controls, vulnerability remediation, monitoring, observability, and performance tuning.
• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, automation, documentation, and cross-team collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Exposure to cloud cost optimization or FinOps practices.
