Senior Staff Cloud Engineer (AWS)

Location: 229 West 43rd Street, New York, New York, United States; external candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview at a hirify.global location.

Salary: USD 180,000–200,000 yearly.

What you will do

• Define cloud architecture, engineering standards, reusable patterns, and best practices across the organization.
• Design and implement scalable, secure, highly available AWS infrastructure across multi-account environments using AWS Organizations and Control Tower.
• Build reusable infrastructure modules and automation frameworks with Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Establish CI/CD patterns for infrastructure provisioning and standardized cloud service consumption.
• Design hybrid connectivity between data centers, third parties, and AWS, including cross-account networking and shared services.
• Lead complex incident resolution, reliability improvements, technical reviews, and mentorship across engineering teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in cloud, infrastructure, systems engineering, or related technical roles.
• Deep hands-on AWS experience, including AWS Organizations, multi-account architecture, Control Tower, VPCs, routing, transit networking, and hybrid connectivity.
• Strong experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation, plus automated infrastructure deployment and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of IAM, identity federation, AWS Identity Center, security controls, governance, monitoring, and reliability.
• Experience leading complex initiatives across multiple teams, influencing architecture and engineering standards, and mentoring engineers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure or GCP.
• Experience with container platforms, serverless technologies, or cloud-native architectures.
