Ice Detection System Designer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Maintain in-service ice detection and protection systems and implement necessary evolutions.
• Define new detection and protection systems for future aircraft programmes.
• Define the primary ice detection operational concept and refine system requirements and architecture.
• Monitor thermal studies to ensure ice detection performance meets requirements.
• Lead supplier workpackages, translate system architecture into specifications, and follow supplier design activities.
• Define verification and validation strategies, including modelling, icing wind tunnel tests, flight tests, and aircraft system integration.

Requirements

• Degree in mechanical or aeronautical engineering.
• Knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermal and thermodynamic engineering.
• Knowledge of system development processes and physical installation.
• Basic understanding of aerodynamics, handling qualities, and aircraft performance.
• Understanding of certification principles and project management basics.
• Negotiation-level English is required. Intermediate French with willingness to learn is desirable.

Nice to have

• Experience with CS25 Subpart B.
• Intermediate French and willingness to develop language skills.
