Stress Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Wichita, Kansas, United States; the Stress Department is based in Toulouse, France.

What you will do

• Analyse and validate metallic, composite, and hybrid structures from a stress perspective.
• Write and review stress dossiers, reports, justifications, and test programs and reports.
• Define structural justification approaches and track activity progress with Technical Authority and Senior Engineers.
• Support manufacturing by assessing non-conformities.
• Collaborate with design engineers, technical experts, civil and military authorities, Airbus engineering teams, and subcontractors.

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an engineering school, preferably in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in stress analysis.
• Good knowledge of Airbus calculation methods and tools.
• Strong communication skills and an autonomous, adaptable approach.
• Openness to digital technologies and understanding of the benefits of digital solutions.
• Advanced English and French are required. The position requires security clearance or eligibility for clearance by the relevant authorities.

• Spanish language skills.
• Ability to step back from activities, synthesise information, and propose new ideas.
