Principal Builder (AI)

AI Fund is a venture studio founded by Dr. Andrew Ng that builds AI companies from the ground up with corporate partners, investors, and founders.

What you will do

• Work with commercial partners, venture capital firms, limited partners, and founders to identify, shape, and validate new AI company ideas.
• Build market sizing, business models, go-to-market plans, and written company theses.
• Evaluate which ideas warrant investment based on market opportunity and the uniqueness of the AI solution.
• Explain company ideas to potential founders and Engineers in Residence and help recruit the right founder.
• Guide product, user, and go-to-market work during the 12-week Build and support company formation.
• Recommend whether to invest after the Build and support follow-on investment and portfolio activities.

Requirements

• Technical ability, a strong understanding of frontier AI, and hands-on experience coding with AI.
• Experience as an engineer, product manager, product designer, or founder, including scrappy 0-to-1 work.
• Experience working effectively with elite founders and senior executives.
• Ability to communicate rigorously, persuade through influence, and express strong opinions with maturity.
• A STEM or research degree from a top research university, or equivalent demonstrated rigor.

• Active involvement in weekend builds, hackathons, or side projects.
