Technical Building Equipment Engineer (HVAC)

What you will do

• Develop HVAC concepts and system designs from proposal stages through contract coordination.
• Design and coordinate heating, ventilation, cooling, and air distribution systems for timber and timber-hybrid buildings.
• Prepare and review HVAC documentation for German planning and permitting stages.
• Evaluate technical feasibility, energy performance, and cost impacts of HVAC solutions.
• Use Revit and Autodesk tools to model, coordinate, and validate HVAC layouts.
• Collaborate with architecture, structural engineering, sustainability, product, client, and partner teams.

Requirements

• Professional experience designing modern, energy-efficient HVAC systems, ideally for timber or timber-hybrid buildings.
• Degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC design standards, energy performance requirements, and KfW40, DGNB, LEED, and QNG+ frameworks.
• Proficiency in Revit and Autodesk design tools.
• Understanding of German planning phases HOAI 1–5 and the documentation required at each stage.
• Ability to work in both German and English in technical and collaborative settings.

• Experience with low-carbon building systems, indoor climate strategies, and lifecycle performance considerations.
