Systems Engineer (HVACR)

Location: Overath, Germany, with a hybrid working model including two days of remote work per week. The role is also described as part of an Aachen-based team.

What you will do

• Design custom industrial refrigeration and gas compression systems by performing calculations and selecting components.
• Review compression system designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, contracts, codes, and customer specifications.
• Generate project Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams and coordinate standard product selections with Mechanical Design Engineers.
• Develop custom project documentation, conduct design reviews with production, and approve production drawings.
• Prepare custom equipment specifications, support procurement quotations, and provide technical support to production, customers, sales, and other departments.
• Participate in multifunctional teams to resolve design issues and improve engineering processes and methods.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• More than three years of engineering experience and the ability to address varied technical problems with limited mentorship.
• Working experience with AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD software.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in writing and presentations.
• Strong teamwork, learning, attention-to-detail, safety, and independent working skills.
• Willingness to travel 5–10% and legal authorization to work in Germany; visa sponsorship and work authorization support are not provided.

Nice to have

• Experience with compression systems, pressure piping systems, or Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.
• Understanding of manufacturing BOM structures and ERP systems.
• Experience with heat-transfer products or thermodynamic systems.
