Project Commissioning Engineer (HVAC)

Location: Remote within the United States, supporting projects around central New York, including Syracuse and Albany

Salary: $88,900–$128,750 per year

What you will do

• Review design drawings, equipment specifications, submittals, and maintenance access requirements.
• Create project-specific commissioning plans and start-up and testing checklists for HVAC equipment and systems.
• Perform onsite inspections and hands-on functional testing of boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, pumps, and fans.
• Verify building automation system sequences of operation and stable system performance.
• Document deficiencies, track corrective actions, maintain commissioning logs, and coordinate project commissioning meetings.
• Review O&M manuals, maintain testing equipment certifications, and compile final commissioning reports for building owners.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, plus 3 or more years of field experience in mechanical design/build or commissioning.
• Alternatively, a two-year technical degree with 5 or more years of field experience in service, building automation systems, or commissioning.
• Detailed knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building automation systems.
• Must work remotely within the United States and support onsite commissioning activities around central New York.

Nice to have

• Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP) certification.
• Building Commissioning Professional (BCxP) certification.
