Energy Tech III

Location: Greater Metro Detroit area; candidates must live in or within a reasonable commuting distance from the assigned territory. Remote work with recurring local on-site visits to customer homes and no overnight travel. The role includes travel throughout a defined territory.

Salary: $23.00 per hour

Provides energy-efficiency programs and services that help communities and utility customers reduce energy waste and costs.

What you will do

• Represent the local energy-efficiency program and provide customer education.
• Install basic residential energy-efficiency equipment and upgrades.
• Inspect homes for insulation, air sealing, and HVAC conditions.
• Recommend ways for customers to save energy and money.
• Provide technical guidance on installation, configuration, and product improvements.
• Report project status and help identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues.

Requirements

• Must live in or within a reasonable commuting distance from the Metro Detroit territory.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record required.
• Ability to climb ladders up to 10 feet and lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Comfort using computers and software, with mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn home construction and HVAC fundamentals.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship; pre-employment drug testing and motor vehicle checks are required.

Nice to have

• 1–3 years of relevant industry experience.
• Associate degree with relevant technical certification or training.
• BPI certification.
