What you will do
- Lead mechanical design and analysis of opto-mechanical assemblies, modules, and systems for new products and product enhancements.
- Perform advanced FEA, CFD, thermal, vibration, and tolerance analyses to validate design integrity and performance.
- Create mechanical specifications, design documentation, test plans, and validation and verification activities.
- Collaborate with optical, electrical, manufacturing, and program engineering teams to define requirements, integrate designs, and troubleshoot issues.
- Select and qualify materials, components, and manufacturing processes while improving performance, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on complex mechanical engineering projects.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; a Ph.D. is preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in mechanical design and analysis, preferably in optical, semiconductor, or high-tech manufacturing industries.
- Expertise with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks and PDM/PLM systems.
- Advanced experience with FEA and CFD tools such as ANSYS and FLOTHERM.
- Strong knowledge of material science, heat transfer, vibrations, precision mechanical design, DFM, DFA, and DFR.
- Experience leading complex technical projects, mentoring engineers, and communicating technical concepts effectively.
Nice to have
- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with optical alignment and packaging techniques.
