Soldering Process Engineer (Semiconductor)

What you will do

• Establish robust soldering process and control systems to monitor yield and quality.
• Manage improvement projects focused on production-line yield, quality, cost, delivery, materials, processes, equipment, and package design.
• Support plant strategy projects, new product development, customer complaints, outsourcing projects, and lean Kaizen activities.
• Troubleshoot process issues and manage abnormal-lot disposition to maintain quality and on-time delivery.
• Support productivity improvements and cost-reduction initiatives in soldering operations.
• Assist the engineering manager with routine engineering management and help soldering engineers strengthen process-control and problem-solving capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in electronics, physics, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in assembly processes within the semiconductor industry.
• Experience developing or supporting new package and assembly structures based on customer requirements and improving product quality.
• Knowledge of ISO/TS 16949, AEC-Q101, APQP, and PPAP procedures.
• Problem-solving experience with DOE, QC 7 tools, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and 8D methodologies.
• Good spoken and written Mandarin and English communication skills are required.

Nice to have

• At least 3 years of team-lead experience.
• Project leadership experience.
• Black Belt or Green Belt training or certification.
• Experience with PPT, Excel, Minitab, and AutoCAD.
• Experience in a major discrete semiconductor company.
