Process Engineer (Optical Modules)

What you will do

• Develop, optimize, and standardize manufacturing processes for optical modules ranging from 100G to 1.6T.
• Lead optical coupling, packaging, module assembly, soldering, fiber handling, laser welding, and thermal-material application processes.
• Transfer products from design into stable mass production and lead Pre-DFM and Post-DFM reviews with R&D and contract manufacturers.
• Select and set up critical optical alignment systems, review tooling and manufacturing-process development, and support new-product introduction.
• Analyze production failures using DOE, Gauge R&R, SPC, Cpk/Ppk, and optical tolerance analysis; identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
• Support contract manufacturers and suppliers on site, resolve mass-production bottlenecks, and coordinate delivery with R&D, product management, technical engineering, supply chain, and quality teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or quality-control experience in optical modules, optical components, or EDFA products.
• Experience transitioning optical products from design to mass production, preferably with completed projects.
• Knowledge of optical coupling, packaging, PCBA, box-build assembly, and production testing processes.
• Proficiency in PFMEA, Control Plans, DOE, Gauge R&R, statistical analysis, Cpk/Ppk, and independent production-defect resolution.
• Fluent written and spoken English; a bachelor’s degree in optical engineering, optoelectronics, microelectronics, electronic engineering, or mechanical engineering.
• Experience with PDM applications such as Agile and project management or Six Sigma quality-management skills.

• Knowledge of production testing.
• Experience with contract-manufacturer capabilities and optical-module industry trends.
