Senior QMS Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Penang, Malaysia; Shift 1 (Malaysia)

What you will do

• Lead the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of automotive Quality Management System requirements.
• Implement and maintain IATF 16949, AEC-Q100, AIAG Core Tools, and VDA practices.
• Establish processes and objective evidence for FMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, Control Plans, calibration, and measurement-system compliance.
• Translate customer, regulatory, and industry requirements into procedures, workflows, templates, training, and operational controls.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Test, Supply Chain, Quality, foundries, and OSATs to strengthen production and process controls.
• Support audits, certification and customer-readiness activities, corrective actions, ADG initiatives, and other regulated-market programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, electronics, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in QMS, automotive quality, manufacturing quality, or related semiconductor fields.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality-management principles.
• Working knowledge of AIAG Core Tools, including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and Control Plans.
• Experience with calibration, measurement equipment, traceability, out-of-tolerance management, and manufacturing, production, test, or laboratory quality systems.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills required; role based in Penang, Malaysia.

Nice to have

• Experience with fabless semiconductor operations, foundries, OSATs, and external manufacturing interfaces.
• Knowledge of ISO 26262, AEC-Q100, AS9100, aerospace and defense quality requirements, ESD control, or high-reliability manufacturing.
• Hands-on AIAG/VDA FMEA, ISO/IEC 17025, calibration traceability, MSA, Gauge R&R, SPC, or process-capability experience.
• Experience with PLM, JIRA, or JAMA; Six Sigma certification is a plus.
