Quality Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: George Town, Penang, Malaysia; on-site. Must have work rights for Malaysia.

What you will do

• Establish product and process quality standards, KPIs, and continuous-improvement metrics.
• Develop and implement an effective Quality Management System.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, mechanical, manufacturing, test, failure-analysis, component-engineering, and supply-chain teams to identify and mitigate quality risks.
• Develop and enhance supplier audit processes and contribute to supplier SBR and QBR reviews.
• Lead quality investigations through tiger teams, root-cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive the 8D process for NPI, production, sustaining, and process-improvement issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
• 10+ years of related experience in the semiconductor or electronics industry, including quality engineering in high-tech manufacturing and work with contract manufacturing partners.
• Experience with Quality Management Systems such as ISO/TL 9000, quality KPIs, Six Sigma, PCBA manufacturing, electro-mechanical assembly, testing, diagnostics, failure analysis, and debugging.
• Basic understanding of ERP systems and supply-chain concepts, with the ability to balance technical and business aspects of hardware manufacturing.
• Strong cross-functional communication, presentation, influencing, and prioritization skills.
• Fluent English and Malay; work rights for Malaysia required.
