Environmental Test Placement (12 months)

Location: Stevenage, United Kingdom; hands-on environmental testing and dynamic operational activities are performed on site.

hirify.global Defence and Space operates a space qualification facility delivering environmental testing for internal spaceflight programs and external UK space and high-tech customers.

What you will do

• Support the full lifecycle of environmental tests, including setup, instrumentation, execution, and data collection.
• Work across vibration testing using small and large shakers and Thermal Vacuum testing.
• Troubleshoot equipment and procedural issues during live testing and adapt methods under pressure.
• Apply vibration physics and thermal vacuum principles to support space hardware qualification.
• Support multi-customer setups, shift operations, and safe working practices during parallel test activities.
• Define, lead, and deliver a placement development project improving processes, technical outcomes, or operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Undergraduate status must be maintained for the full 12-month placement.
• Currently studying Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related Physical Science discipline.
• Proactive, inquisitive, resilient, and able to remain calm during technical challenges.
• Strong interest in hands-on engineering and understanding how hardware withstands launch and space conditions.
• Willingness to work in a dynamic test environment with changing priorities and schedules.
• BPSS screening is required, with possible UK SC-level security clearance or Export Control requirements depending on the role.
