Aircraft Avionics Fitter (Aerospace)

Location: RAF Shawbury, Shropshire, United Kingdom. The role is primarily based on site, with occasional work at other locations. Monday to Thursday: 07:30–16:30; Friday: 07:00–13:00.

What you will do

• Assist Certifying Engineers with delivering serviceable aircraft for the daily flying programme.
• Maintain aircraft avionics and electrical systems under the supervision of Certifying Engineers.
• Complete maintenance activities as directed by Maintenance Supervisors.
• Ensure compliance with aviation regulations and company procedures.
• Support safe aircraft operation through high-standard maintenance.
• Assist with aircraft movement, hangar operations, and general housekeeping.

Requirements

• Experience in an aviation engineering environment.
• Level 3 Vocational Qualification in Aircraft Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Knowledge of UK CAA regulations, avionics, and electrical systems.
• Teamwork, communication, organisational skills, self-motivation, and operational resilience.
• Current legal right to work in the United Kingdom is required.
• Ability to obtain SC clearance and complete a mandatory BPSS check; SC clearance generally requires five years of UK residence.

Nice to have

• At least six completed UK CAA Part 66 B2 modules and more than three years of documented experience for the Fitter-to-LAE development pathway.
• Experience with collaborative problem-solving and flexible support of customer requirements.
