Test Technician

Location: Slough, United Kingdom; night-shift, onsite laboratory role

What you will do

• Support new product development, root cause analysis, and material qualification testing programmes.
• Prepare test rigs and equipment, install seals and associated hardware, and complete pre-test and static pressure checks.
• Execute test procedures and capture accurate, reliable test data.
• Photograph and document test evidence while maintaining accurate records.
• Maintain a clean, organised, safe laboratory environment in line with HSE and 5S principles.
• Support inventory, stores, equipment readiness, and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, or product testing.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with practical assembly and equipment preparation experience.
• Understanding of manufacturing, engineering, or product development processes.
• Experience recording, analysing, and reporting test data.
• Commitment to safe systems of work and risk awareness.
• Effective communication skills and comfort working collaboratively in a shift-based environment.

Nice to have

• BTEC Level 3, Level 4, or HNC in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience supporting product testing, validation, or development activities.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and laboratory best practices.
• Experience with engineering test rigs or fluid systems.
