Senior Engineering Technician (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Support customer testing requirements for new components used in flight-critical aircraft actuation systems.
• Develop, build, and run design assurance and qualification tests.
• Conduct hydraulic testing, including impulse fatigue, endurance, performance, thermal cycling, and vibration testing.
• Assemble and test prototype components and valves, including products with integrated electronics.
• Build and configure test rigs, instrumentation, data acquisition equipment, and associated electrical equipment.
• Interpret engineering specifications and drawings while collaborating with the Engineering Development laboratory team.

Requirements

• HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline; relevant professional experience may substitute for formal education.
• At least 2 years of experience in a test and validation environment.
• Experience building and setting up test rigs, selecting rig components, and producing test documentation.
• Experience with instrumentation, data acquisition equipment and software, and hydraulic or pneumatic systems.
• Ability to use electrical equipment, understand electrical circuits, and accurately interpret engineering specifications and drawings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, plus the ability to work collaboratively and independently.

Nice to have

• Experience using or programming NI LabVIEW.
• Experience setting up vibration tests with LDS, B&K, M&P, or similar hardware and software.
• Manual machining skills such as turning and milling.
• Experience conducting documented risk assessments.
