COBOL Developer

Location: Fully remote within the United States

Salary: $53,770–$72,800 annually

What you will do

• Support the Automated Rural Address Management System Edit Book Update process.
• Analyze software requirements and determine application functionality, upgrades, and strategic solutions.
• Develop and organize requirements specifications, data mappings, diagrams, flowcharts, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Create current- and future-state interface documentation and Interface Control Documents.
• Implement practices that improve scalability, supportability, maintainability, and system performance.
• Collaborate with project managers, subject matter experts, multimedia specialists, developers, and testers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience with COBOL and DB2.
• Must be able to attain and maintain a USPS Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline is preferred but not required; without a relevant degree, 4 additional years of relevant experience are required.
• Experience with Changeman for creating packages and promoting code.
• Ability to scan libraries to research instances of keywords and phrases and investigate issues.
• Experience responding to incidents in ServiceNow and creating ServiceNow change requests according to USPS processes.
