Full-stack Engineer 4 (TypeScript, Vue, AWS)

Salary: $197,300–$225,100 per year, plus potential performance-based incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Lead diverse technology projects and guide developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
• Deliver cloud-based solutions in collaboration with digital product managers.
• Define service boundaries, integration patterns, reusable frameworks, and engineering standards with architects.
• Use TypeScript, JavaScript, Node, AWS, databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and related cloud technologies.
• Drive refactoring, technical-debt reduction, system performance improvements, and operational excellence.
• Mentor engineers and influence long-term technology strategy through emerging tools and practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative or engineering field.
• At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
• At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
• Experience with front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, databases, APIs, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated testing, and Git-based version control.
• Experience troubleshooting cloud environments, using observability to optimize distributed systems, and establishing coding standards and design patterns.
• Must be able to work on-site in McLean, Virginia, United States. Capital One does not provide immigration or employment-authorization sponsorship for this position.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 7+ years of coding experience across multiple languages such as Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala.
• Experience contributing to open-source frameworks, mentoring engineers, leading large-scale initiatives, and using AI-based coding tools or interactive AI tooling.
